Propel(x) Presents: Tax Incentives and Benefits for Angel Investors in Startups
January 20, 2022
If you have ever invested in startups or are considering investing in startups, then this webinar is for you. To encourage economic development and support entrepreneurship, the federal government in the U.S. provides tax benefits to angel investors who invest in startups and small businesses.
While startup investments can qualify for long-term capital gains, certain investments go a step further and can qualify for an even more preferential U.S. tax treatment e.g. potentially up to 100% tax-free gains subject to certain conditions.
In this webinar, we also cover the three tax sections of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) that every startup investor should be aware of
Section 1202 (gains)
Section 1045 (rollovers)
Section 1244 (losses)
Note: This meeting is for informational purposes only. It is not a solicitation or offer to purchase or sell any security, nor should this information be construed as ‘investment advice.’

This Website is intended solely for accredited investors. Private Investments are highly risky and are not suitable for all investors. Investments in early-stage private companies should only be part of your overall investment portfolio. Furthermore, the allocation to this asset sub-class may be best fulfilled through a balanced portfolio of diversified startups. Investments in startups are highly illiquid and those investors who cannot hold an investment for the long term (at least 5-7 years) should not invest. There is no guarantee that an investment will be profitable. All investments bear the risk of partial or complete loss of capital. Please review risk factors for investments on Propel(x) here.
