Preferred Stock

Preferred stock is a type of security that usually pays a dividend but does not have voting rights. In the case of a company liquidation, preferred stockholder would receive payment before common stockholders. Preferred stocks usually have a callability feature which allows the company to redeem the shares after a certain time at a certain price.
